§ 80. Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the failure of the electricity supply to Whalsay; and when normal services will be resumed.
§ Mr. RossI understand from the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board that a fault in the submarine cable to the island resulted in the failure of supply to Whalsay at 4 a.m. on Sunday, 20th November. Portable generators were shipped to the island and enabled a partial supply to be given by 9 p.m. on 21st November. A full supply has been available since the evening of Tuesday, 22nd November.
