§ Mr. Edward ShortThe extension of the coverage attained by B.B.C. television services is primarily the Corporation's responsibility. Stage V of their low-powered relay station plan, announced by my predecessor in March, provides for a further 20 stations. This will bring the coverage by B.B.C.1 up to 99–5 per cent. of the population by 1970.—[Vol. 725, c.555.]
