§ Mr. John MackieSince I sent my recent letter to my hon. Friend saying that we are giving these proposals urgent attention, the River Authority has advised that if is in a position to start work this month instead of as it previously antici-282W pated early in 1967. We have, therefore, authorised it to start work without prejudice to the decision about grant aid and a formal decision will be given as soon as our examination of the proposals has been completed.
