Mr. MacColl

Figures for building starts are not available. The best estimates available of capital investment were given in the table circulated with the Answer on 1st December of my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Education and Science to the hon. Member [Vol. 737, c. 132.] Loan sanctions issued, for England, were:

£ million
1963–64 8.0
1964–65 11.4
1965–66 12.0

The figure for 1966–67 is likely to be about £2.5 million.
