HC Deb 02 December 1966 vol 737 c175W
Mr. Beaney

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs how many professional men, or bodies of professional men, have given him notice of their intention to increase the fees they charge for their services.

Mr. William Rodgers

The criteria for prices and incomes behaviour set out in White Papers Cmnd. 3073 and 3150 are expected to apply to charges or fees of self-employed persons but the requirements under the White Papers relating to prior notification do not extend to professional fees.

I am glad to say however that the response of professional bodies to the Government's call for a standstill and a period of severe restraint has been good.
