§ Mr. Boyd-Carpenterasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs to what extent the grant to an employee of inclusion in an employer's pension scheme is contrary to Government policy; and whether he will give an assurance that his powers under Part IV of the Prices and Incomes Act 1966 will not be invoked to prevent such inclusions.
§ Mr. M. StewartIt is not the Government's policy to prevent the extension of occupational pension schemes during the period of severe restraint and the question of using Part IV powers does not therefore arise.
