Jannerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if, in view of the recent accidents in United Kingdom waters, he will send a circular to local authorities to encourage them to promote safety at sea by such methods as contributions to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
§ Mr. MacCollNo. In his circular No. 52/65 my right hon. Friend's predecessor drew the attention of local authorities to the National Water Safety Campaign promoted by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. The circular mentioned the possibility of subscription by authorities to the Society's Water Safety Section. My right hon. Friend does not think that any further guidance is needed now.
