HC Deb 04 August 1966 vol 733 cc165-6W
62. Commander Pursey

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that British firms have placed orders for trawlers to be built in Poland; what is the amount of British currency to be spent in Poland by building these trawlers abroad; and what steps were taken by the Government to prevent this loss of British currency during the present financial position.

Mr. Mason

I am aware that two British firms have announced a decision to order four trawlers from Poland but I do not know the prices being quoted. Trawlers are not subject to import restrictions.
