§ Mr. John Wellsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the total spent by the Paymaster-General's Department on advertising in the past year; and by what sum he intends to reduce it in the current year as a result of the present economic situation.
§ Mr. MacDermot£23 11s. 10d. during the year ended on 31st July, 1966. This sum was spent on recruiting advertisements for staff and it is not practicable to decide now whether, and if so by how much, to reduce expenditure of this kind.
