§ Mr. Milneasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what information he sought about the profits made in the past two financial years by football clubs in England before they received grants and loans from Her Majesty's Government to assist in providing the venues for the World Cup Competition; and if he will publish the results.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThe clubs submitted their acounts for the three financial years 1961–62 to 1963–64, and Her Majesty's Government were satisfied that the clubs could not pay, from current assets, the whole of the expenditure involved. Copies of the accounts of the clubs are lodged with the Board of Trade, where they are available for public inspection.
§ Mr. Milneasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will give details of the grants and loans made to football clubs in Great Britain whose grounds were the venues of the matches in the World Cup Competition.
