asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the total number of civil servants employed by his Department full time and part time, respectively, at the last convenient date; and what increases or decreases these figures represent on the comparable figures for October, 1964 and August, 1965.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

On 1st July, 19,440 full-time, and 1,710 part-time. These totals are 1,294 and 157 more than in October, 1964, and 832 and 141 more than in August, 1965.
