HC Deb 04 August 1966 vol 733 cc184-5W
Mr. John Wells

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the total spent by his Department on advertising in the past year; and by what sum he intends to reduce it in the current year as a result of the present economic situation.

Mr. John Mackie

Advertising expediture by and on behalf of the Department for the year 1965–66 cost £18,629 15s. 11d. This was to meet various statutory requirements, to notify staff vacancies, and for other routine purposes. The 1966–67 estimate is £16,000. I can hold out no hope of further reductions.
