HC Deb 03 August 1966 vol 733 cc146-8W
Mr. Hooson

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what areas in the upper Severn Valley are now to be surveyed as potential reservoir sites; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

At my request the Welsh Committee of the Water Resources Board and the Severn River Authority have reconsidered the proposal

It is important that these surveys should be carried out as soon as possible so that I shall be in possession of all the relevant facts before I take a decision to survey 29 sites in the light of my statement in the House on 27th May last and with my agreement now propose that the following ten sites should be surveyed:

about the use of any further land for reservoirs. I hope now that all concerned will co-operate with the surveyors.
