Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Defence why soldiers belonging to the Royal Engineers of the Territorial Army from Southampton were engaged to build a bridge on an estate at Muick, near Braemar; what was the cost of the project; and by whom was that cost borne.

Mr. Ennals

The Territorial Army Engineer Regiment were in annual camp near Braemar and built this bridge as part of their training. Local materials were used and no extra costs were incurred.
