§ Mr. William Edwardsasked the Minister of Transport what advice she has received from the Welsh Economic Planning Council about the need to improve public transport facilities in Merioneth.
§ Mr. SwinglerThe Council has given my right hon. Friend advice about public passenger transport in Wales as a whole. Steps are now being taken to set up a transport co-ordinating committee which, as indicated in her White Paper on Transport Policy, will be studying transport arrangements throughout Wales and advising on steps necessary to get a more effective and co-ordinated service by public transport.
The Council has also arranged for a pilot study of transport in an area of West Wales to be carried out by the University College of Aberystwyth.
