HC Deb 03 August 1966 vol 733 c115W
81. Sir D. Renton

asked the Minister of Transport whether she is aware that it was decided in principle years ago that a bypass should be built at Huntingdon, that it was included in the major works programme nearly two years ago, and that traffic congestion there has now become acute; and when work on the bypass will be started.

Mr. Swingler

Problems of engineering design and cost have delayed the publication of a draft Order for the route of this bypass. My right hon. Friend hopes to complete consultations with the local authorities soon, but a date for start of work cannot be given yet.
