§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he is aware that advertisements have been placed in the national Press for various appointments in educational establishments for which he is responsible quoting salary scales which are presently under review with a view to increases being paid; and, as this is contrary to the Government's declared wages and salary standstill, whether he will take steps to amend these advertisements.
