asked the Minister of Transport if, in view of recent economic measures, the estimated completion date of the M.5 south of Quinton to Great Barr is still the autumn of 1968.

Owing to the complicated engineering problems involved, it is not expected that this section of motorway will be completed before 1969.

There is no reason to suppose that the current deferment measures should affect this target date.
