§ 17. Dame Irene Wardasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what grant, and on what basis of assessment, is being given to local authorities on Tyneside to meet the demands imposed on them by a decision to deal with the pollution of the River Tyne.
§ Mr. MacCollNo special grant is being paid to local authorities on Tyneside towards expenditure on dealing with pollution of the Tyne. But all authorities except Newcastle are eligible for rate deficiency grant, which would take account of such expenditure.
