asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what projects in Kent of the value of £1,000 or more relating to schools, hospitals, housing and roads have been delayed as a result of the recent curb on public expenditure.

Mr. Callaghan

Housing, schools and hospitals were exempted from the arrangements for deferring capital expenditure projects. The following is a list of road projects in Kent to the value of £25,000 or more which have been deferred. Information about smaller projects is not readily available centrally.

Road schemes in Kent over £25,000 which were planned to begin in the period to January, 1966 but which have been deferred for six months are shown below:
