§ Mr. K. RobinsonThe Report has been published today and I have arranged for copies to be available in the Library. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and I are most grateful to the Committee for their careful examination of this difficult problem. The Government are fully alive to the importance of preventing an increase in addiction to heroin and cocaine and of doing everything possible to reverse the trend discussed in the Report. In conjunction with my right hon. and learned Friend the Home Secretary and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland I am already consulting the General Medical Council and the medical profession about the recommendations. I will make a further statment as soon as possible after these consultations have been completed.
