HC Deb 23 November 1965 vol 721 cc38-9W
68. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations why Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom, in view of their responsibility for Rhodesia, did not arrange, in accordance with precedent, for the laying of a wreath on the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday in London in rememberance of the Rhodesians of all races killed in two world wars.

Mr. Bottomley

On Remembrance Sunday wreaths were laid in remembrance of all Commonwealth dead of the two wars. There is no precedent for a representative of an illegal regime to participate in this ceremony, but a wreath was laid by the Colonial Secretary on behalf of all British Territories.
