§ 67. Mr. Ioan L. Evansasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what representations he has received from the Birmingham City Council to retain prefabricated bungalows scheduled to be cleared before the end of the year; and what reply he has sent.
§ Mr. MellishThese bungalows stand on public open space. The power to keep them there expires at the end of this year. The Council has asked for general legislation to allow the bungalows to remain after that date. They have been informed that this would not be justified for a purely local problem. They were advised that if they wished to retain the bungalows a private Bill would be the appropriate way of obtaining the necessary power.
