HC Deb 17 November 1965 vol 720 cc86-7W
Mr. McMaster

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs whether the early warning system described in Command Paper No. 2808 will apply to Northern Ireland.

Mr. William Rodgers

The Northern Ireland Government agreed with the United Kingdom Government in February that the proposed procedures for the review of prices and incomes should operate for the whole of the United Kingdom. The present arrangements for advance notification of increases in prices and incomes therefore apply to organisations in Northern Ireland as they do to those located in other parts of the United Kingdom, and the procedures outlined in Cmnd. 2808 should be followed. It has been agreed that there will be prior consultation with the Northern Ireland Government about any proposed references to the National Board for Prices and Incomes of cases in which the industry involved is of special importance to Northern Ireland.
