HC Deb 17 November 1965 vol 720 cc84-5W
Lord Balniel

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he proposes to amend the Local Government Superannuation (Benefits) (New Town Staffs) Regulations, 1962 in the light of the Redundancy Payments Act 1965.

Mr. MacColl

There is no reason to do so. The regulations are concerned with the pension rights of new town staff on redundancy, not with lump sum payments of the type for which the new Act provides.

But my right hon. Friend is reviewing the new towns redundancy and resettlement scheme which does provide for redundancy payments, and he will be consulting the New Towns Whitley Council on any amendments which may be necessary to take account of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1965.
