Sir Knox Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for Defence, if he will give an estimate of the amount saved to public funds by the non-use of leave warrants issued free to members of Her Majesty's forces for travel between Great Britain and Northern Ireland during the last convenient period of 12 months.
§ Mr. MayhewNo. As the hon. Member was told on 5th May last year, we could only get this information by asking every Serviceman if he had used all his free leave warrants, and if not why not. This would be a waste of effort.
