§ Mr. CroslandThe Department's expenditure on the Youth Service in 1964–65 was £1,622,000. Local education authority returns for the same year are not yet complete, but their total expenditure is expected to be about £9,850,000.
In addition there were substantial contributions to the cost of the service from voluntary sources.
