§ Mr. John Pageasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government, whether he is satisfied that the Town and Country Planning General Development Order, 1963 is working satisfactorily in cases of the special procedures applying to public undertakings such as electricity boards; and how many complaints he has received from members of the public about the siting of electricity sub-stations and similar installations.
§ Mr. MacCollThere are arrangements for the electricity boards and other statutory undertakers to consult the local planning authority informally before carrying out works permitted by the order and I am told that these work well. My right hon. Friend has no record of the number of complaints received, but they are rare.
