§ Mr. Roseasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government, whether he will take action by legislation to prevent hardship to those who have bought houses on mortgages in slum clearance areas and who will after 1st January, 1966, nevertheless have to continue mortgage repayments after demolition with only site value compensation.
§ Mr. CrossmanYes. The Bill to which I referred in my answer to my hon. Friend the Member for Oldham, East (Mr. Mapp) on 26th October will give all owner-occupiers of condemned houses the right to apply to the courts for relief from outstanding mortgage payments.
