HC Deb 02 November 1965 vol 718 c136W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations if he will make a statement on Britain's responsibilities as co-guarantor of the Constitution of Cyprus, with particular regard to the United Nations.

Mr. Bottomley

Our responsibilities derive from the Treaty of Guarantee, which has been registered with the United Nations in accordance with Article 102 of the Charter. The United Nations are now seized of the Cyprus question and we hope that they will help to promote a settlement acceptable to all the parties concerned.
