§ Mr. George ThomsonI recently visited, on three successive trips, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iran; the United Arab Republic and Saudi Arabia; and Israel. My purpose was to acquaint myself personally with the problems of the area and with leading statesmen in the countries I visited with whom I had many useful talks. I am sure that in general these have helped to promote better understanding between Her Majesty's Government and the Governments concerned.
