§ Mr. GunterI entirely accept that active support at the highest levels of management is essential for an effective accident prevention policy. A practical way to achieve this is for one director in an undertaking to accept responsibility for safety matters. In co-operation with the Confederation of British Industry and bodies concerned with management education, I am making every effort to ensure that top management recognises its responsibilities for safety.
