76. Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will make a statement on the recent developments in Indonesia, in so far as they affect British interests in South-East Asia.
§ Mr. M. StewartHer Majesty's Government have closely followed recent internal developments in Indonesia, but it is still too soon to advise the House how these developments may affect British interests in South-East Asia. I can say, however, that so far as Indonesia's confrontation against Malaysia is concerned there has been no relaxation in Indonesia's aggressive118W policy and all factions in Indonesia continue to subscribe to the confrontation policy.
