§ Mr. Longdenasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether Her Majesty's Government have now been able to obtain the agreement of the Governments of Israel and Jordan to the repair and future upkeep by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission of their cemetery on Mount Scopus.
§ Mr. PadleyNo, I would refer the hon. Member to my reply of 14th December last. We are continuing actively to try to find a solution with the help of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation. If these talks should be unsuccessful it would cause keen disappointment in this country and in many quarters of the Commonwealth.
