§ Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Power whether he will order an inquiry into the accident at Shave Cross, Dorset, where one man was killed and five injured when a new 110 foot electricity pylon crashed; and what steps he is taking to ensure that in future adequate precautions are taken to safeguard the public from similar danger.
§ Mr. John MorrisThe accident occurred while lines were being strung on the pylon by contractors working for the Central Electricity Generating Board. No member of the general public was involved. My right hon. Friend is seeking a report from the Board and he will decide in the light of this report and of the evidence given in the coroner's court what further action on his part is needed.
