§ 68. Mr. Clark Hutchisonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take steps to enable him to calculate the extra cost to industry in Scotland of the additional petrol tax imposed last autumn.
§ Mr. MacDermotI have put some work in hand as a result of which I hope it will be possible to provide a reasonable estimate of the incidence of this increase in duty on industry and commerce in Scotland, and I will write to the hon. Member as soon as this is completed.
