§ Mr. Danceasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress has been made by the Noble Committee, considering research into the effects of television on the young.
§ Sir F. SoskiceI understand that the Committee has considered a number of possible research projects. It has, so far, sponsored one major project, which is now proceeding, and is about to undertake two other projects. It has also held two conferences of research workers and other persons concerned with the influence of television and has published a survey of previous research into the effects of mass communication. I am sending a copy of this survey to the hon. Member. The Committee plans further publications, including a statement in a few months' time on its plans for the future and on research priorities in this field.
