§ Mr. Maxwell-Hyslopasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what representations he has received from Tiverton Rural District Council regarding the Cullompton Sewerage and Sewage Disposal Scheme; what reply he has sent; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MacCollTiverton Rural District Council have submitted their scheme for my right hon. Friend's approval. In the interests of economy he suggested two small modifications. My right hon. Friend cannot authorise the Council to proceed until he knows that they can acquire the necessary land, and it is not yet clear whether they can acquire a small area owned by the British Railways Board. The District Valuer, acting for the Council, made a number of attempts to negotiate with the Board but met with no response. My right hon. Friend understands, however, that negotiations will now begin.
