§ Mr. Charles Morrisonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the Government installations in which agreements with the National Staff Side Negotiating Committee limit the number of hours which computers are operated, indicating in each case the type of computer involved, the purpose for which it is used, the date of the agreement and the number of hours per day that the computer is in operation.

§ Mr. MacDermotA list of computers operating in Government establishments was given in the reply to the hon. Member on 2nd March, 1965. The agreement with the National Staff Side applies generally and not to specific installations. Under this agreement, made in July, 1962, normal working is limited to 15 hours per day but 24-hour manning is permitted where necessary to provide a fully operational service or in emergencies.
