§ 69. Mr. Solomonsasked the Minister of Land and Natural Resources what steps he is taking to promote the sale of timber by the Forestry Commission.
§ Mr. SkeffingtonThe Forestry Commission will continue to sell in the best available markets all the timber they produce. The arrangements outlined in the Forestry Ministers' observations on the Seventh Report from the Estimates Committee are designed to assist this process. In particular, part-time Commissioners with commercial experience and experience of the timber trade, will be appointed; and a full-time Commissioner will be appointed as Head of Harvesting and Marketing.
