§ Mr. Peter Walkerasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs into which category of exceptions to Her Majesty's Government's Incomes Policy, as outlined in paragraph 15 in the White Paper on Prices and Incomes Policy, the increase in salary announced by the British Overseas Airways Corporation on 2nd May, 1965, which averages 8 per cent. for 1,000 of its administrative staff, comes.

This settlement was in an advanced stage of negotiation before the publication of the White Paper. I understand that its effect is to keep the salaries of the employees concerned in line with those paid for comparable work elsewhere.
