§ Mr. Joplingasked the Minister of Transport how far apart he intends to divert the carriageways of the proposed M.6 extension between Killington and Hackthorpe; over what distance they will be apart; how much land will come between the carriageways; and to what purpose he intends to put the land.
§ Mr. Tom FraserThe carriageways will be apart over two lengths of about 5 and 2½ miles. On the 5 mile length the maximum separation will be about 800 ft., and on the 2½ mile length about 1,000 ft. The land between the carriageways not required for motorway purposes will be about 165 and 98 acres. The bulk of this land will be returned to agriculture and access will be provided.
