HC Deb 04 May 1965 vol 711 c160W
Sir M. Galpern

asked the Minister of Transport, in view of the fact that cars capable of 150 miles per hour are now to be on sale to the general public and of the present high accident rate on the roads, if he will take steps to ban the use of such vehicles other than on racing tracks.

Mr. Tom Fraser

There is at present no evidence that the accident rate for these cars is, or is likely to be, higher than for other vehicles, but if experience shows the need I shall certainly consider appropriate action to restrict their use.
