§ Mr. John MackieIn 1964, the value of agricultural imports was just over £1,640 million. This figure includes imports of raw agricultural produce, and those processed agricultural products216W where the processing element does not form the major part, by value, of the finished product. The figure includes a considerable amount for imports of tropical produce. The value of canned products, some processed foods, and alcoholic beverages is excluded.
The value of exports of agricultural products, similarly defined, was £107 million in 1964. Of this, £70 million related to products primarily of United Kingdom agricultural origin.
