Dr. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Defence what steps he is taking to improve the substandard accommodation in Horseshoe Barracks, Shoeburyness, which is affecting adversely the morale of units accommodated therein.
§ Mr. MulleyHorseshoe Barracks is an old barracks which will be dispensed with in due course. It has continued in use because it has more married quarters associated with it than any alternative barracks. Works services are carried out each year to maintain and improve the accommodation.
