§ 29. Mr. Adam Hunterasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if, in her review of the social services, she will consider exempting students from 18 years of age undergoing full-time education from paying National Insurance contributions until their education is completed; and if she will arrange that the concession of free credits is continued up to the time of full-time education ceasing.
§ Mr. PentlandFull-time students over the age of 18 are not obliged to pay contributions except during vacation work. In a contributory scheme it would not be appropriate to give them free credits.
