HL Deb 18 March 1965 vol 264 c496WA
THE EARL OF HARROWBY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will consider the desirability of establishing skid training on specially prepared pitches as part of the driving test in view of the high proportion of fatal accidents caused by the lack of this training.

LORD LINDGREN

There is no evidence that the absence of skid training causes a high proportion of fatal accidents. The cost of providing special skid facilities for every driving test centre would be out of proportion to the likely benefits.

House adjourned at five minutes before seven o'clock.
