§ 29 and 30. Mr. Harold Walkerasked the Postmaster-General (1) if he will now reduce the cost to retirement pensioners of radio and television receiver licences;
(2) if he will exclude retirement pensioners and the chronic sick from increases in radio and television receiver licences.
§ Mr. BennI am currently considering the B.B.C.'s case for an increase in licence fees but a decision has not yet been reached. The Government will, of course, keep the particular circumstances of retirement pensioners and others fully in mind but I cannot undertake to make any concessions.
