§ Mr. Pounderasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give an estimate of the amount gained by the Exchequer annually as a result of civil servants dying prior to the attainment of pensionable age, based on the average life expectancy of a civil servant.
§ Mr. MacDermotSuperannuation schemes are drawn up and costed by reference to statistically probable expectations. It is obviously not realistic therefore to describe divergences from the statistically probable average as resulting in losses or gains.
