HC Deb 11 March 1965 vol 708 cc152-3W
88 and 89. Sir P. Agnew

asked the Postmaster-General (1) if he will state the approximate annual revenue derived from transfer charges when telephone subscribers move from one residence to another;

(2) if he will state the approximate annual revenue derived from connection fees charged to new subscribers to the telephone service.

Mr. Joseph Slater

The income from connection charges in 1963–64 was£6½ million. I cannot say how much of this was derived from new subscribers and how much from subscribers who had a telephone at a previous address.
